About Carbon Offsetting

Climate change is a growing concern, and will continue to remain a challenge for the future. Moving away from the use of fossil fuels and other activities that are causing climate change requires a massive transition from our current way of living and it demands a global response. Governments, businesses, communities and individuals are taking action to try to reduce consumption of precious natural resources and minimise greenhouse gas emissions generated by their everyday activities.

All over the world governments are beginning to legislate to reduce carbon emissions and establish a price on carbon, using a variety of measures including regulation, emissions trading and carbon taxes.

There are many actions that businesses and individuals can take to reduce carbon and other greenhouse gas emissions, in particular by using energy and fuel more efficiently, lowering our consumption of unnecessary products and services or choosing products and services that are more environmentally friendly, in addition to reducing the volume of waste which is sent to landfill.

It’s impossible to completely reduce emissions, but for those looking to go the extra mile, voluntarily investing in projects which reduce emissions elsewhere, otherwise known as carbon offsetting, can be a solution.
